Basically, I have decided that the "sorted by conference" power rankings were getting a little bit dry and were essentially like reading the same thing over and over so I have made a FULL NHL power rankings thread for all of you. This took a lot of work and I hope you guys can respect my opinion. Sorry if I rated lower than you feel you should be, not everyone can be superstars. The number in green is their current position in their conference standings. Enjoy.

1.(2) - Chicago Blackhawks
With the roster that Chicago boasts, the Blackhawks appear to be the clear cut class of the NHL. When your roster has 4 of the top 10 forwards in the entire game, (lan, Dub, Bass, Hope) you know you're doing something right. Week in, week out Active finds a way to pull the right strings to make all the right moves. I've always wondered how you can determine if a Goalie is the best or not. If he's Vezina worthy. If his team is carrying him or not. There are many factors involved. Let's count:
1. Save % - Obviously the biggest factor. If you can't stop a puck, you won't be ranked high.
Weight: 60%
2. Shots Against:Opponent's Time on Attack (SA:OTOA) Ratio - This is not ALWAYS the case, but in my goalie experience, a vast majority of good teams have a high TOA, but low shots. They cycle, deke, pass to the slot, only shooting if they have a chance to score. It can kill a goalie's SV%. The bad teams usually have low TOA, but high shots. They shoot turds every chance they get hoping for a rebound or a rammer goal. These goals do happen, but for the amount of shots this style usually helps the goalies SV%.
I created a SA/OTOA graph that includes each team, and also set a trend line. Any goalie above the trend line will have a <50 score for this section, and vise versa.
Weight: 30%
3. Strength of Schedule (SoS) - This is the team's SoS. This only has a 5% weight as I'm not able to determine which Goalie played which teams.
Weight: 5%
4. Team Ranking - Ranked by the number of points their team has. This is a factor as a higher ranked team will most likely face 1st and 2nd lines. Not able to determine which Goalie played which lines, so again, only 5%.
Weight: 5%
Note: GAA, shutouts, and wins are NOT factored in since they are based on how well your team plays, and less of how great of a goalie you are. If your team sucks, and you still get shutouts, wins, and a good GAA, congratulations! This means your SV% and SA:OTOA are outstanding, which are factors.

I play eashl/otp since nhl 11 and i am a veteran in the VHL. With the best of my knowledge i decided to make a simple guide for the new comers, any players interested. While explaining the positions i will also show you how to communicate with your teammates while giving you few tips and tactics. Each seasons and all season long you will have new comers on any teams, players that might not know their role or how to adapt to their team play style or to play correctly their position so this guide could be used by teams management if they feel the need to for their players.
As much as i can find i will also add visual support which means short videos who will show exactly what i explained but in images, the videos might be from other NHL games but its basically the same thing. The guide goes as follow: CENTER, LEFT WING, RIGHT WING, LEFT DEFENCE MAN, RIGHT DEFENCE MAN, GOALIE.
This guide can be found in the Player Development section of the VHL forum. If you have any other tips/tactics or anything you would like to discuss or add to this guide feel free to share your imputes, however please do so in a respectful way and civilized manners.

Back by popular demand, and because I need to work on my grammar and spelling ability, my weekly articles, "Commissioner Corner"
We have just started our 11th season here in the VHL. So far so good. This was the shortest off-season we have ever had, as well as we had sign ups return. It was a small learn curve for some but overall the benefit of having signs has already been shown. We also added an additional 600+ rookies into the CHL bidding making CHL bidding the largest pool this season a huge success!!! Shout out to my boys in the CHL, and to Erice because he drives me crazy, calls me sir and sounds like a he should be a priest or something.
The hype around this season is high. The amount of power rankings, going around has caused some rivals to be formed quickly. We are also extremely excited to see the amount of game footage floating around right now. I heard that since the hotxdogxstand was moved to Steele town this season we can expect to see way too many games of TCX7. Mashley also said that LA has about 15 nerds with cap cards so every second post on the forums will be a pens or kings game. I am hoping with the NHL guys posting so many videos it will promote the CHL and AHL guys to get involved as well.
